Built in 1898, this iconic lighthouse is situated on St Mary's Island, just north of Whitley Bay. The island is connected to the mainland by a concrete causeway which is submerged at high tide. Climb the 137 steps to the top of the lighthouse and you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the surrounding rock pools, cliff top grassland and beaches.
