The Spirit of Northumberland - Sycamore Gap - ORIGINAL PAINTING
The Spirit of Northumberland watercolour painting was created in response to the sad destruction of the famous tree that once stood at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian's Wall.
David was inspired to an create an etheral, almost ghostly outline of where the tree once stood. He envisioned a kind of memory or faint echo from the past, something that captured the essence of the tree without fully recreating its physical form.
